About the event
Join Laura, owner of Fox Point Oysters, for a guided, interactive  discussion about oysters and oyster farming, while standing knee-deep in the beautiful tidal waters of Little Bay, part of the Great Bay  estuary. See how aquaculture gear is used to grow productive oyster yields, and learn how these friendly bivalves help protect our waters. A  shucking demonstration will give participants the chance to learn from a  pro.Â
This workshop is created in partnership with Seacoast Eat Local who brings people to farms, on-site where food is grown, produced, and harvested.Â
What to bring: Wear clothing  you don’t mind getting wet or muddy along with water shoes or boots. If the tide is up we may be ankle deep in the bay or standing on soft mud. Flip flops and sandals are not safe. Make sure to have a towel and dry footwear to change into after the demonstration in case you need it.Â
Additional details: The location is on a muddy shoreline with  no restroom available. This demonstration will require you to walk down  stairs to access the shoreline. If you are not comfortable balancing  while walking through mud or along rocky, uneven shores, you may want to  sit this one out.
Head over to SEL workshop page and grab tickets while supplies last. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to SEL for being awesome and partnering with FPO!
